Schools administrator interviewed parents last month, when 23 children had
left, to determine whether University Prep was telling families to leave. But
parents said they were pulling their children voluntarily. They were concerned
about bullying, missing textbooks and other issues.

7th principal in 26 months
About halfway through his first
semester, Cory Oliver is settling into his role as principal of the small Stock
Island public charter high school Key West Collegiate Academy.

F rated charter school looking to expand
At stake
is $27 million in taxpayer money that would go to Charter Schools USA, as
Orange County and other school districts make persistent efforts to enforce
local standards amid charter-friendly changes to the law by the Legislature.
